Actions and features within Scribe do not count towards your usage limit.
Transcription, clinical note generation, note editing and document generation are unlimited on every seat. Direct integrations, typically used within Scribe, also do not count towards your usage.
Customers on a Clinician, or Practice plan with access to Heidi II features will not have Evidence actions or Dictation count towards their usage. Anything you could do prior to the launch of Heidi II will be included within your usage.
The content in this article is for Clinician, and Practice plan users. If you are on Scribe Plus, or Scribe Team your evidence usage will continue to be capped.
How usage works for Heidi’s Agent features
Your plan includes a monthly allowance for features that ask Heidi to take actions on your behalf, such as pre-charting, running routines or working with another system.
There is no fixed number of actions included. How quickly you use your allowance depends on:
which Agent features you use
how often they run
the complexity of the work
how much information Heidi needs to process
Which plan is right for me?
As part of the Heidi II launch, we're introducing two usage tiers for selected regions and subscriptions. Your plan will set how much you can use the new Agent features, including routines, pre-charting and full-text journal search.
Clinician Standard and Practice Standard are suited to clinicians who primarily use Scribe, Evidence and Dictation, and want to try Agent features occasionally.
Clinician Max and Practice Max are designed for clinicians who regularly rely on Agent features as part of their workflows. This includes frequent routines, regular work across other systems and daily pre-charting.
For most individual clinicians using Agent features regularly, Max should provide ample usage. Usage is allocated per clinician and is not intended to support the work of multiple clinicians through one seat.
If you're on a free plan, you'll get limited usage of Agent features.
On Standard, you keep every feature you had before Heidi II, with no new limits to Scribe actions, Evidence and Dictation.
What counts toward my usage limit?
Heidi adds new capabilities and features over time, and some of these will count towards your usage limit.
This article covers what clinicians use most; head to Settings > Usage & Billing to view your actual usage.

What does not use my allowance?
Your core clinical workflows remain included:
recording and transcribing consultations
generating and editing clinical notes
using Evidence (for Clinician, Practice subscribers)
using Dictation
generating documents from a consultation
applying an existing template
pushing notes through a direct integration
Only features that take additional actions on your behalf draw from your Agent usage allowance.
When does my usage limit reset?
Your usage refresh will depend on the date that Heidi II was made available to you. This date will be different to your billing date. Unused allowance doesn't carry over to the next month.
If my account has multiple clinicians, does their usage affect my limit?
Your allowance is yours individually. It doesn't come from a shared pool.
If your plan covers more than one clinician, each person has their own allowance. One clinician running low doesn't draw down anyone else's, and unused capacity can't be transferred between colleagues.
What happens when you reach your limit?
Reaching your limit doesn't interrupt your clinical work. Scribe keeps running, your notes and documents stay fully accessible and nothing you've already written is affected.
Three things happen, in order:
Heidi lets you finish the action you started. Nothing stops mid-task.
Every feature that counts toward your limit pauses for the rest of the billing month. See the table in "What counts toward my usage limit" above.
Everything else that does not count towards your usage limit keeps working normally.
Getting more usage before your reset date
You can upgrade from Standard to Max by going to Settings > Usage & Billing. If someone else manages your seat, they'll need to make the change for you.

Yes. Heidi notifies you as you get closer to your limit via in-product prompts, and then again when you reach 100%.

Note that you can move back from Max to Standard, but it won’t take effect until your next billing cycle.

No. Each clinician has their own allowance and it can't be transferred, even when one plan covers several people.

Some Heidi II features may produce a result that looks similar to something Heidi could generate before. The difference is that Heidi can now complete the action for you, rather than only creating an output that you then needed to move manually.
For example, previously you could ask Heidi to draft information for pre-charting. You then needed to copy it, find the correct patient or session and place it where you needed it. With Heidi II, Heidi can prepare the context and add it to the relevant patient or session for you.
It's the additional actions and automation that draws from your Agent usage allowance. Core workflows such as transcription, clinical note generation, Evidence and Dictation remain unlimited.
