On the login screen, enter your email address
Tap Continue with Email
On the next screen, tap Reset password
Check your email for a 6-digit verification code and enter it

Add patient context
Use the Context tab to add patient information, upload documents, or attach images before or after capturing.
Background capture and Telehealth
You can lock your screen or switch to other apps while audio capture continues in the background. We recommend enabling ‘Do not disturb’ while capturing via mobile, as incoming calls can disconnect the microphone from your Heidi session.
The mobile app does not currently support transcribing phone calls or other Telehealth calls.
Using headphones
You can use headphones as a microphone for dictation or in-person consultations. However, the mobile app cannot capture audio playing through your headphones, so headphones won't work for Telehealth.
Managing Notes
Mobile dictation
The Heidi mobile app supports Session Dictation within the mobile interface. To switch to Session Dictation, simply start a new session, then select the Dictate button at the top of your screen.
Alternatively, use your device's built-in keyboard dictation to add text to any field. You can enable keyboard dictation on your phone within the mobile device's core settings.
Note: This uses your device's keyboard dictation, which works differently from Heidi's dictation feature.
Edit Notes and templates
Tap any session to view and edit notes and documents
Modify the template selected within the session
Tap the Share icon at the top-right to export notes to desktop, or open on web for advanced editing
Voice and language settings
Customise the level of detail and style for your notes:
Tap the settings icon in the top-right corner
Select Voice or Output language
Choose your preferences from the menu
New sessions will use these defaults. You can override them within individual sessions.
Supported languages
Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.
Viewing sessions
All sessions appear in your session list on the home screen
Swipe left on a session to delete it
Pull down to refresh and sync changes
You can start a new session immediately after ending the previous one, even while notes are still generating. Sessions sync across all your devices when you're online.
Offline mode
Heidi works without an internet connection:
Start and complete sessions offline
Edit existing notes
Create multiple offline sessions
An "Offline" indicator appears when you're working without a connection. When you reconnect:
All changes sync automatically
Notes generate once connectivity is restored
Offline mode also works as a backup if your connection drops mid-session.
How to use Offline mode on mobile
Create a new session
Open the Heidi app and tap the + button at the bottom of the screen.
Note: You can also open an existing session and continue using Mobile Dictation or transcription.
Start your session
Begin capturing as you normally would.
An offline indicator will appear, letting you know your note will generate once you're back online.
End your session
Tap the green stop button to end the capture. The session will remain pending in your Sessions list until your device reconnects.
Reconnect to the internet
Once online, your sessions will sync automatically and notes will begin generating.
Review and complete
Once your notes have generated, select a template, add any final details, and save.
Additional Tips
Once back online, ensure you're connected long enough for Heidi to fully process and save your session.
Heidi Remote is a dedicated hardware device designed for clinicians on rounds. It works in low or no connectivity environments and means you don't need to keep your mobile on you during sessions. Learn more about Heidi Remote.
