Bluetooth Range & Ways to Wear

Placement drives audio quality, and audio quality drives your notes. This guide covers smart positioning and how Bluetooth range affects your sessions.

Bluetooth range and audio quality

Heidi Remote is designed to keep working even as you move around, switch rooms, or lose Wi-Fi. Here's what to know about range at each stage.

During pairing

Stay within arm's reach of your phone or computer for the most stable connection.

During a session

Keep your phone or computer reasonably close to you while transcribing. This enables real-time syncing as your session progresses and gives you the smoothest experience.

If you go out of range

Your Remote will keep transcribing regardless. Sessions are saved securely on the device and sync automatically as soon as you're back in range of the app.

💡 You don't need to do anything if your connection drops mid-session. Remote handles it automatically and your transcription will be waiting to sync when you're back in range.

Ways to wear your Remote

Placement is the single biggest factor in how clearly your Remote captures audio. The closer and stiller it is to your mouth, the better.

Recommended placement

Clip the Remote high on your chest or top pocket, facing outward. Chest-level placement performs best across different room setups and keeps the microphone close, clear, and stable.

Through a lab coat or jacket

Use the magnetic attachment to clip the Remote through fabric. This keeps it secure without needing to adjust your clothing.

Using the lanyard

The lanyard is adjustable and detachable. It can be removed quickly if needed in an emergency.

💡 As a general rule: the higher up your chest and the closer to you, the cleaner the audio capture.

⚠️ Safety note: Remote contains magnetic components. Keep it away from implanted medical devices such as pacemakers or defibrillators. Follow your facility's safety policies when using the lanyard. Keep the Remote out of reach of children, as small parts and magnets can present a choking hazard.
