Unbox and Meet Your Remote

Get to know Heidi Remote: what's in the box and the two buttons you'll use every session.

What's in the box

Your Heidi Remote package includes:

  • Heidi Remote

  • USB-C charging cable

  • Detachable lanyard

  • User manual and quick start guide

  • Stickers

Here's what to know about each:

USB-C charging cable

Keep this handy for end-of-day charging. Remote's battery lasts up to 14 hours, so it's built to support you through even the busiest clinical day without needing a top-up mid-shift.

💡 A full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours. Use a 5V / 500–1000mA adapter. We do not recommend fast-charging adapters.

Clip and lanyard

These give you flexibility in how you wear your Remote. The lanyard is adjustable and detachable; it can be removed quickly if needed. See [Ways to Wear Remote] for placement options and recommendations.

User manual and quick start guide

Included in the box for quick reference. For more detailed guidance, the Remote section of the Heidi Help Centre has you covered.

Stickers

Working in a team environment with multiple Remote devices? The stickers are a simple, practical way to identify which device is which at a glance.

Meet your Remote

There are two buttons on the Remote — Power and Transcribe.

Power button

Press and hold the Power button on the side of the Remote for 2 seconds. A solid white light means it's on and ready to go.

To turn it off, press and hold the Power button again for 2 seconds.

Transcribe button

The Transcribe button is the centre button on the front of the Remote and controls your recording. Here's how it works:

LED lights at a glance

Your Remote communicates through its LED. The three states you'll use every session are white (ready), red (recording), and orange (paused). Here's the full reference:

💡 If your Remote is on and charging, the LED stays solid white; it only turns green when the device is off and charging.
