Scribe-instellingen

The fastest way to shape your output is through your Scribe settings. These can be adjusted at any time, and the note will regenerate in seconds so you can see the difference immediately.

Scribe type

Choose between two modes depending on the complexity of your consultation:

  • Fast Scribe — performant and quick to generate. A great default for most consultations.

  • Best Scribe — takes a few extra seconds but is better at picking up nuance and detail. Best reserved for complex sessions — mental health consultations, new diagnoses, multi-person discussions, or patients with significant comorbidities.

Detail level

Select the level of detail that best matches how you like to write:

  • Brief — concise notes with only the most important details. Well suited to fast-paced environments like emergency.

  • Goldilocks — a balance between concise and comprehensive. A good starting point for most clinicians.

  • Detailed — full sentences with a thorough account of the consultation.

  • Super Detailed — automatically includes patient quotes. Particularly useful for mental health consultations or complex end-of-life care discussions.

Within each detail level, you can further dial the amount of detail up or down to fine-tune your output.

💡 Tip: This takes a little trial and error — and your ideal setting may vary depending on the type of consultation. Don't be afraid to experiment between sessions.

Style preferences

Toggle on or off to suit your personal style:

  • Opsommingstekens

  • Patient quotes

  • Abbreviations

Personalisaties

⚠️ Personalisation is currently in beta. Head to Settings → Heidi Labs to toggle it on, and review all generated notes carefully to ensure they meet your standards.

Every time you edit a note within Heidi, Heidi is learning. It observes changes to your syntax and grammar, your content and phrasing preferences, and your formatting and layout choices — and builds these into a personalised profile over time. The more you edit within the platform, the less you'll need to do over time.

You can view Heidi's observations by navigating to the Personalisations section within your note. It's worth reviewing these periodically and marking any that don't accurately reflect your preferences as incorrect — this keeps your profile accurate and your output on track. You can do this by hovering over a personalisation, and selecting the thumbs down which will ‘mark as incorrect’.

💡 For personalisation to work, edits must be made within Heidi — not after you've copied your note into your medical record.

💡 Important: Personalisations override your template settings. If your notes aren't adhering to your template instructions, check your Personalisations first and correct any conflicting observations.

Memory — Find & Replace and Snippets

Find & Replace

Build a personal bank of terms so Heidi consistently uses the language you prefer. This is particularly useful for clinical abbreviations — if you always want a specific term abbreviated in a specific way, you can codify that here and Heidi will apply it automatically.

Navigate to Settings → Memory → Find & Replace to set these up.

Tekstfragmenten

Think of Snippets as macros. If you have standard phrases you use regularly — safety netting advice, after-hours contact information, resources for specific conditions — you can save these as a Snippet and insert them into any note with a simple keyboard shortcut, without having to dictate or type them each time.

Navigate to Settings → Memory → Snippets to set these up.

Sjablonen

If you want consistent control over the structure and format of your notes and letters, templates are where that happens. Rather than dictating everything verbatim, a well-built template will give you the right structure every time — automatically.

It takes a little experimentation with the template builder to get there, but once your templates are dialled in you should be able to produce notes that look and feel entirely like your own work, without noticing that Heidi has made them.

💡 Head to our Template Academy for a full guide on building and refining your templates.

Using these features together

Scribe settings give you immediate control. Personalisations improve your output automatically over time. Memory and Snippets handle the repetitive, practice-specific language. Templates lock in your structure and format.

Used together, these four features should get your Heidi output sounding exactly the way you want it to — with less and less manual editing required as you go.
