Complementary Evidence access ending: your questions answered

What changes when your 90-day complementary Evidence access ends, what you keep, and how to upgrade if you want to retain premium Evidence features.

In February 2026, all Heidi Pro and Practice customers received 90 days of complimentary access to premium Evidence features. That access ends on a rolling basis from 23 May 2026. This article explains what changes when your access ends, what you keep, and how to upgrade if you want to retain premium Evidence features.

What is changing?

The 90-day complimentary access period for premium Evidence features is ending. From 23 May 2026, you have a choice: continue using premium Evidence by upgrading to a new plan, or remain on your base Heidi plan. You will need to choose one of these options when your access ends.

When does my access end?

Your access ends 90 days after you first logged in to Heidi after 22 February 2026. The majority of access periods end around 23 May 2026. All access periods close within two weeks of that date.

To check your current plan, go to Settings → Billing in the Heidi web app.

What happens when my access ends?

When your access ends, you will be shown an "End of Complementary Access" experience where you can choose to upgrade and keep your premium Evidence features, or continue on your base plan at no extra cost.

  • If you were on Heidi Pro and don't upgrade, you will move to Scribe Plus. Scribe Plus is the updated name for the Pro plan. Your features and pricing are unchanged.

  • If you were on Heidi Practice and don't upgrade, you will move to Scribe Team. Scribe Team is the updated name for the Practice plan. Your features and pricing are unchanged.

You may see an in-app prompt notifying you before your access ends. You can also check your plan at any time in Settings → Billing.

💡 Earlier this year, we made some changes to our plans. For more information, see the article Heidi Plan Changes: Names, Features & FAQs.

What Evidence features will I no longer have access to?

Individual users returning to Scribe Plus:

  • Source Control is removed

  • Personal Guidelines are removed

  • In-session Evidence queries are capped at 10 per week (this was previously unlimited)

  • Agentic actions such as exports, emails, presentations and PDFs are capped at 10 per week (this was previously unlimited)

Team users returning to Scribe Team:

All of the above, plus:

  • Team Evidence Guidelines are removed for the entire team

💡 Head to our Pricing page for more information on current plans and features.

What do I keep?

All users retain free Evidence access on all plans. You can continue asking clinical questions and receiving citation-backed answers in the Evidence sidebar. Standard Evidence queries remain available.

All Scribe features are unaffected. Unlimited custom templates, documents, and forms remain available on your base plan. Notes, templates, and all historical data are not affected by this change.

What about Ask Heidi?

Ask Heidi has expanded significantly beyond note editing. It now supports a range of agentic use cases that work directly with Evidence — for example, generating a PDF export of an Evidence summary, sending an email recap of a session, creating a multi-session patient recap, or producing a presentation from clinical findings. These agentic actions draw on both your session context and Evidence results to produce outputs automatically.

It's important to understand how Ask Heidi features are metered across plans:

  • Note editing and document creation (e.g. shorten this note, create a referral letter, rewrite as a brief) — these are the Ask Heidi use cases you've always had. They are unlimited on all paid plans, including Scribe Plus, Evidence Plus, and Scribe Team. They do not consume Paid Credits.

  • Advanced agentic Ask Heidi actions with Evidence (e.g. PDF exports, email summaries, multi-session recaps, citation-backed answers during a consult) — these are the newer, higher-value surface. On Evidence Plus, these are limited to 10 Paid Credits per week. On Clinician, they are unlimited.

💡 Clinician is the fully unlocked plan for individual clinicians, it has: unlimited note editing, unlimited advanced in-session Evidence queries, unlimited agentic actions, Source Control, and personal guidelines. If you want the complete Scribe + Evidence experience without any limits, Clinician is the right choice.

For users currently on Scribe Plus, Clinician is the right upgrade. If you were to move to Evidence Plus, you would lose access to paid scribe features.

FAQ

How do I keep my premium Evidence features?

Over the past 90 days, you may have built up a personalised Evidence setup — custom sources, personal guidelines, and a workflow built around unlimited queries. Upgrading preserves all of that. Returning to your base plan means that setup stops working, and queries and agentic actions are capped at 10 per week. The longer you've been on your trial, the more context you've built, upgrading keeps it intact.

  • Individual users can upgrade to Clinician to retain Source Control, Personal Guidelines, unlimited in-session Evidence queries, and unlimited agentic actions.

  • Team users can upgrade to Practice to retain all of the above, plus Team Evidence Guidelines.

To upgrade, click the in-app upgrade prompt if you see one, or go to Settings → Billing → Upgrade in the Heidi web app. Upgrading is pro-rated, so you pay only for the time remaining in your current billing period. The exact amount is shown at checkout before you confirm.

What is different for UK and EU customers?

Eligible UK and EU Scribe Team users are automatically moved to Practice at no extra cost. Practice is priced at parity with the old Scribe Team price in those regions.

Eligibility requires all three of the following:

  • Based in the UK or EU (subscription billed in GBP or EUR)

  • Currently on Scribe Team with an active complimentary access period for Practice

If you have questions about this change, contact the Heidi support team.

I already upgraded during my complimentary access period. Am I affected?

No. If you upgraded to Clinician or Practice during your complimentary access period, your plan, features, and billing are unaffected.

I accidentally upgraded. What should I do?

Contact the Heidi support team. Our team will assess and advise on next steps.

Can I continue using Evidence on Scribe Plus or Scribe Free?

Yes. All plans include free Evidence access — you can continue asking clinical questions and receiving citation-backed answers in the Evidence sidebar.

However, on Scribe Plus or Free you will lose access to Source Control, and agentic actions (such as exports, emails, presentations, and PDFs) are capped at 10 per week rather than unlimited.
