Start with the transcript — the transcript powers the note, so always check it first; if the transcript is inaccurate or empty, the note will be too
Testing your microphone — recording a short test session to confirm your mic is capturing audio correctly, and checking your device's audio input settings if nothing is detected
Common transcript issues — platform-specific situations that can affect accuracy, including:
Mobile: enabling Do Not Disturb to prevent incoming calls from disconnecting the microphone
Telehealth: using the desktop app for best results, and avoiding tab-switching on the web browser which can temporarily revoke microphone access
In-person: keeping your device awake, checking for background noise, and confirming the green waveform is visible next to the record button
Troubleshooting your note — a step-by-step process: check the transcript, review the template for errors or unclear instructions, then try resuming, refreshing, and regenerating the output
Scribe and voice settings — adjusting between Fast and Best Scribe, and selecting the right detail level (Brief, Detailed, Super Detailed, Goldilocks, or a custom setting) if your note lacks the right depth or clarity
Contacting support — reaching out to the Heidi support team with a summary of the issue, any error codes, and your session ID (found via the three dots menu)
