Before beginning your session, it is important to understand, are you dictating or transcribing. This will change your experience end-to-end.
β
Generally, use the transcribe feature when a patient is in the room.
β
Dictation should be used for letter writing/dictating onto notes. You can also dictate after a transcription is finished by clicking the microphone inside a window.
When you start and stop transcribing, a consult summary or dictation is generated depending on which mode you prefer. Consult summaries are a base clinical note that you can use to further refine the output or create other documents via the template and Ask Heidi function.
How do I start a consult?
Simply press 'Transcribe' to start transcribing, and you will see a wavelength appear meaning Heidi has started transcribing!
How do I end a session?
To end a session, click 'Stop transcribing' in the top right hand corner.
You can then select your template or note structure you would like to produce your summary notes in, and then see your consult notes or dictation appear in the 'Note' tab.
Can I print notes out for patient files after finishing?
You can print out the notes very easily - just use our export button! Just click on the three dots shown at the top of your note and click βExport asβ.
