Pre-charting using Context

Generate clinical notes and pre-charted summaries before your session, using Context, then have your transcript woven in afterward.

Creating a note before transcribing

Add text or upload a file to Context. Select Create from context and choose a template to generate a note or document.

Accepted file types: .doc, .docx, .pdf, .png, .jpg

Not accepted: spreadsheets (.csv, .xml), .txt files

Select Context, add your text or upload files, then use Create from context to generate your note from the added information.

Adding a transcription

Select Transcribe to begin your session. When you select End transcribing, Heidi updates your note using the transcript.

Heidi automatically generates a note when you end transcribing, based on the captured transcription.

Syncing context changes into your note

If you add context after creating your note, add it to the Context tab, then return to the Note tab and select Sync changes to update your note.

If you add more context, return to your note and click Sync changes to update your note.

Inline Dictation

You can also dictate directly into the Context tab using the microphone icon. See Dictating in Heidi: which one are you using? → for more on Heidi's dictation features.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transcribe after creating a note from Context?

Yes. Context-based notes can be created at any time, before or after a session is completed.

Do I need to use any special formatting for content in Context?

You can add text and documents in natural language. For best results, specify where the information is from, for example, past medical history versus a pre-session intake form.

I forgot to add a file to Context. Can I add another after transcribing?

Yes. Whether it's a file or text, add the material to the Context tab, return to the tab you'd like to update, and select Sync changes to bring in the new material.
