This guide is for solo providers to install Vim middleware. To install Vim as an organization or team, see instructions here.

What is Vim?
Vim is an “overlay technology” that sits on top of the EHR and allows for seamless integration with eCW. Heidi creates dynamic note templates based on what fields are available in your eClinicalWorks configuration. When you push a note, VIM automatically maps Heidi's sections to your EHR's corresponding fields (subjective, objective, assessment, plan, etc.)
Step 1: Sign Up for Heidi + Vim Integration
To Sign up for Vim click the button below.
You'll be asked to:
Select your EHR: Choose eClinicalWorks from the list
Enter your work email and verify your identity
Complete your profile: Provide basic account information
Review and accept permissions and terms
Step 2: Install Vim Connect
After signing up to Vim, you'll need to install Vim Connect on your computer.
Click on Download Vim Installer.
Once downloaded, click on the download icon on the top right of your Chrome browser.
A box will appear, click 'run'
When prompted, click Yes to allowing the Vim app to make changes to your device.
Open your eClinicalWorks application and login as usual. Vim will detect your EHR automatically.
Step 3: Log Into eClinicalWorks
Once Vim Connect is installed:
Log into eClinicalWorks as you normally would.
Vim will automatically recognize and activate your account — you may be asked to complete a one-time only Vim login.
The Vim heart icon will appear in your EHR in the top right corner - you're all set!
Note: As an individual user, your account is not linked to a practice organization and does not include Vim Console access.

Already Have Vim Installed?
If you already use Vim Connect for other applications:
You'll bypass the installation steps
Simply log in to your EHR
Heidi will automatically appear in your Vim application menu
